Miss. Fafali Nyonator,
the only representative from Ghana representing Moremi Initiative to the 30th
GIMAC Conference ongoing at the Capital of Ethiopia is expected to deliberate
on Gender related issues with her colleague counterparts from the 55-continental
pool.
The 30th Pre-Summit
Consultative Meeting on Gender Mainstreaming in the Africa Union is organized
on the theme:" Harnessing theDemographic Dividend through Investment in
Youth towards a Continental policy Framework for Girls and Young Women "
is to see some comparative policy re-direction towards gender equality policy
formulation consolidation and resolution within the continental body of
empowering Girls and Young Women.
As part of her
participation in the African Union (AU) Heads of State Summit, she is expected
to participate and discuss on the theme with other African Women
representatives on growing gender deficient developments and issues
characterising women on the African Continent.
Miss. Fafali Nyonator,
a Fellow of the MILEAD 2017, is expected to fraternize with other African Women
representatives in Adiss Ababa,Ethiopia on Gender advocacy.
The Gender is my Agenda
Campaign (GIMAC) coordinated by Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS), will convene
the 30th GIMAC Pre-Summit Consultative Meeting on 27-28 June 2017 in Addis
Ababa Ababa, Ethiopia, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa
(UNECA) conference hall.
The meeting will
provide a platform for civil society across Africa to showcase solutions, good
practices and progress on Inclusive Youth Empowerment for Democratic
Development and to putforth key recommendations to the AU Heads of State and
Government for accelerated action to secure gender sensitive youth economic
empowerment and democratization at a local, regional and national level.
Special focus will be
placed on civil society contributions and input in the implementation of
commitments owed to youth as specified in the African Youth
Declaration,Declaration 2015 and the Agenda 2063 initiatives towards
empowerment, development and enhanced participation of youth and achieving
Gender Parity by 2020.
The GIMAC starts from
June 27 to June 28, 2017.
She would then attend
the 4th African Union High Level Panel on Gender Equality and Women's
Empowerment from 29-30 June 2017 at the African Union Commission,Ethiopia,
Adiss Ababa.
